Jane Goodall is the most famous person in regards to chimpanzee studies. She left for the African jungle when she was just a young woman with a note pad and binoculars. Jane brings 60 Minutes with her back to the forests of Tanzania, where she began her adventure 50 years ago. Jane is on a mission to remind the public that chimps are endangered. Jane can basically speak chimp, and tells us how very similar we are to the monkeys. It’s hard to say we didn’t evolve from apes when they also have feelings, kiss like we do, and even pat each other on the back in approval.
