While waiting at some traffic lights, you may have heard a noise, clicking, or tone. You may not need it, but the blind depend on those sounds to know when they can safely cross the street. Manhattan, one of the world’s biggest cities disappointingly doesn’t have an audio signal to cross a street.
Even with no sound, Tommy Edison-who is obviously blind-daringly crosses the busy crosswalk at 38th st and 9th ave. We need this to go viral so Mayor Bloomberg can see what a problem this is for the seeing impaired.
