In America, if we need to get across a natural obstacle, the first thing we think of doing is blowing it up. But in India, where they are more harmonious with nature, destruction isn’t always the best way to build. In Maghalaya, India, natives coerce tree roots and branches to become a living bridge. A man made structure could never survive the torrential rain and over flowing rivers, so for centuries, natives have been building bridges that are still alive.
