This video clip was posted in 2009, but just went viral again now. The Simpsons is TV’s longest running American sitcom, and it seems there is no end to the show in sight. Amazingly, The Simpsons themselves explained why this phenomenon is the case.
In this rare 1992 clip of a very early Simpsons, Bart asks Homer why the Cosby Show was being taken off the air. Homer answers that Mr. Cosby wanted to take the show down before the quality suffered. To that Bart says, ‘If I had a TV show I would run that sucker into the ground.’ Homer answers, ‘Amen, boy amen.’ It seems the Simpsons are following Bart’s instructions.
