Just a few short years ago, drivers were up in arms over the new highway EZ Pass style payment systems that were being made available. Drivers weren’t upset by the convenience, but rather the inherit privacy violations of the system. Now, ‘they’ could see when you drove and to where.

Today, it’s amazingly the exact opposite. People voluntarily sign in to programs like Four Square that openly announce your current location.

And that’s part of the concept behind  latest short film, Webcam. Filmed entirely using a laptop computer’s web camera, the film tells the story of a girl who unknowingly shows her entire world to a hacker who has hacked her laptop’s webcam.

“The filmmakers hope that it will make people think more about the technology that we use every day and the effects that it can have on all of us.”

Published last November, the video has just started to trend now.
