On a sledding excursion at Jackson Lake outside Wrightwood, California, one man fell into the water where the ice was weak and thin. At first the group reacted lightheartedly, but when one rescuer after another slipped into the icy water as well, the situation quickly became much more grave.
Soon, twelve people were in the water struggling to stay afloat and warm while onlookers frantically screamed for help and called 911. After nine longs minutes, everyone was safely out of the water.
