Back in 1994, Steve Jobs gave this interview at NeXT in which he discussed how history would look back on his even then important work.
He admits that his work isn’t like art that is still being looked back on hundreds of years later. No, even then he knew his inventions would be obsolete in ten, twenty years.
“It’s sort of like sediments of rocks. You’re building up a mountain. And you get to contribute your little layer of rock to make that mountain that much higher. But no one will be able to see that rock.”
