Dr Ernie Ward is a practicing veterinarian who, like most vets, receives too many pets who become sick or worse from being left in a car on a summer day.

To show just how hot it gets, Dr. Ward sat in his car for a half hour on a mild day. He made sure to roll the windows down a couple inches like most people falsely assume is sufficient to curb the green house effect.

As he demonstrates in no time, the car reaches over 110 degrees F, even with the windows down. He knows that if left for even a couple minutes, a dog can get sick, or much worse.

Don’t leave your pets in the car.
