The Fourth of July is supposed to be the holiday to celebrate our independence from a tyrannical police state. But sadly, in the name of safety, too many people are willing to throw away their rights and privacy. The DUI check point is a great example.
PurpleHat1991 was stopped at a DUI checkpoint on the Fourth of July, and felt he was being pulled over and harassed for no reason. He had broken no laws, and the police had no reason to suspect him of committing any crime.
Still, the police intimidated him, detained him, and searched his car without just cause or a warrant. All on Independence Day. How beautifully ironic.
He rightfully made sure to record his encounter with the police, and now his video is going viral, already garnering over 2 million views since debuting July 4th evening.
