Sean Kendall was going about his day as usual when he got a phone call. During an investigation, a Salt Lake City police officer went into his backyard and shot his dog. Sean quickly drove home, and had his camera rolling as he emotionally confronted the police.
The Salt Lake Tribune posted this powerful video of the confrontation which is now going viral online with over one million hits so far.
Sean even brings up how this has become a serious problem. “There’s a problem of officers killing dogs for no reason. If you look online, it’s everywhere!”
The police had no good answer or excuse.
When asked why an officer shot the dog, the sergeant at the scene simplified the case: “He entered the yard looking for a lost child, he was threatened by the dog, and he shot the dog. That’s as simple as it gets.”
