We are all taught as kids that it’s not over til it’s over and that the tortoise beat the hare who was overly confident that he would win. Apparently, no one taught these life lessons to Oregon runner Tanguy Pepiot. As he was about to cross the finish line for first place, he waved towards the audience for them to cheer him. It was those last few unfocused seconds that allowed Washington’s Meron Simon to pass him at the finish line. That’s got to hurt!
