The freshmen men’s rowers team of Washington University in St. Louis were on the water for a practice session one Friday morning when a surprise jumped out from the waters. Literally. Countless flying Asian carp bursts from Creve Coeur Lake and pelted the young athletes who could do little more than cover their heads.
