For a long time now, Facebook has been filtering your Newsfeed. Most of what your friends and pages you like post isn’t delivered. 

It used to be way back when Facebook was still cool and was a smaller network nearly every post made it to the feed.

But now, Facebook filters the feed based on engagement, likes, and shares.

The problem with their algorithm and monetization strategy, according to Veritasium, is that soon each user is cocooned by self-affirming views, baby photos, and posts by the highest paying advertiser.
