In 1989, brutal Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu was still holding the country in a socialist choke hold. But after decades of corruption, theft, and brutality, the populace had enough.
It was during this pivotal speech that riots broke out in what is now called Revolution Square in Bucharest, and Nicolae Ceaușescu had to literally run for his life, escaping by helicopter. The next day, he was captured and executed.
Alpha History published the speech in April, but it has only gone viral since last weekend, and stands with over half a million views.
